Directors Roundtable Backdrops

James' story begins in the Painswick Orphanage--use TheatreWorld's ORPHANAGE to set the scene. For Spiker and Sponge's moldering home, consider WOOD COTTAGE. All it needs is a a big peach tree set piece! For the seaside area surrounding their home, consider LAND AND SEASCAPE. SUNLIT OCEAN, featuring an endless horizon, is perfect for the peach's journey across the Atlantic--and swap it out for MOONLIT OCEAN for nighttime scenes. If you don't have your own peach, GIANT PEACH IN THE SKY is a great substitute. Or, use as a main drape! FEATHERED FAIRY TALE SKY - B is a whimsical sky drop, ideal for the scenes where the peach is in flight. Use CRUISE SHIP DECK - B if you don't have a cruise ship set piece for Spiker and Sponge's own journey across the sea. And at the end of the journey, CENTRAL PARK is the perfect landing place for James and his peach. Use TheatreWorld Backdrops and watch the whimsical world of Roald Dahl's classic tale spring up "Right Before Your Eyes" !

James and the Giant Peach Backdrops

When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that results in a tremendous peach... and launches a journey of enormous proportions! James finds himself in the center of the gigantic peach, among human-sized insects with equally oversized personalities, but after it falls from the tree and rolls into the ocean, the group faces hunger, sharks, and plenty of disagreements. Thanks to James' quick wit and creative thinking, the residents learn to live and work together as a family. The dangerous voyage is a success, but the adventure takes a whole new twist once they land on the Empire State Building.
