Putting on a production of Rent? TheatreWorld Backdrops will cover you! Rent typically uses a scaffolding-style set and minimal additional set pieces to create the world of 1980s NYC--but that doesn't mean you can't use backdrops in addition to or instead of scaffolding! Much of the show takes place in Mark and Roger's apartment. BROOKLYN LOFT is stark and a little dingy. RED BRICK WALL is another choice for the apartment--or use with set pieces to create virtual any setting in the show, including Maureen's performance space. Similarly, VINTAGE WAREHOUSE - B, with its big windows and industrial feel, would work for a number of locations, including the apartment and the protest. For the show's various NYC street scenes, use residential EAST SIDE STREET - B or commercial UNDER THE BRIDGE. Finally, for a more abstract option for this show about the passage of time, consider THE CLOCK - B. You'll be "Over the Moon" when you see our collection of Rent backdrops!

Benny has sold out his Bohemian ideals in exchange for a hefty income and is on the outs with his former friends. Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, feels like an outsider to life in general. How these young bohemians negotiate their dreams, loves, and conflicts provides the narrative thread to this groundbreaking musical.
