Suggested Backdrops

Godspell is known for having a pretty simple set--so a single backdrop is all you need! Many productions feature a brick wall, so a very obvious choice would be TheatreWorld's RED BRICK WALL. To play up the circus elements of the show, consider CURTAIN CIRCUS. LOVE AND PEACE GRAFFITI is the perfect way to showcase the show's 1970s roots and to promote the theme of love that runs throughout the show. To really show the love, consider QUEEN OF HEARTS - B, which features and giant heart that radiates red and blue rays. Or, for something more somber, consider FIRE SKY, a beautiful sunset that lighting designers love. Let TheatreWorld be "by [your] side" in your production of Godspell!

Godspell Backdrops

A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques, and hefty doses of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance, and love come vibrantly to life.
