Suggested Backdrops

TheatreWorld's Producers collection is sure to be a hit! Open with BROADWAY LIGHTS, a dazzling rendition of Times Square with a vintage feel. (It's also a great choice if you plan to use one single drop for the whole show.) BROOKLYN LOFT is dark and slightly depressing--perfect for Max's office, which has seen better days. Use your own rooftop set pieces and add STYLIZED MANHATTAN in the background to create Franz's rooftop aviary. GRAND BALLROOM, with its floor to ceiling marble, is just spectacular enough for flamboyant Roger's home. For the audition scene, use THEATRE BACKSTAGE. Max can stand trial in COURTROOM INTERIOR--and then, unfortunately, make his way to PRISON INTERIOR - B. No matter what your vision is for The Producers, we can do it, TheatreWorld and you!

Producers Backdrops

The Producers sets the standard for modern, outrageous, in-your-face humor. The plot is simple: a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history, thereby bilking their backers (all "little old ladies") out of millions of dollars. Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit! The antics of Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom as they maneuver their way fecklessly through finding a show (the gloriously offensive "Springtime for Hitler"), hiring a director, raising the money, and, finally, going to prison for their misdeeds is a lesson in broad comic construction. At the core of the insanely funny adventure is a poignant emotional journey of two very different men who become friends.
