We build our backdrop rental inventory at a pace that our strict quality control standards allow. How We Got Started In The Backdrop Industry

How did we get into theater backdrop rental and design? It’s simple, we’re just like you. TheatreWorld Backdrops began as a division of Salerno Entertainment Group, a musical theatre and event entertainment company based in Tampa, Florida. We understand the challenges and the extraordinary time and costs associated with creating a first-class event.

Like most theatre groups, Salerno initially rented backdrops from friends or commercial sources. Salerno’s production teams wanted backdrops that were more architecturally accurate when depicting real world scenes. We also wanted more detail, color and creativity in the drops that defined the scenery in our musicals, plays and events. As we shopped around for the best theater backdrops we could find, we were often disappointed with what was available. This caused our team to strike out on our own and create custom backdrops that better suit the contemporary theatre industry. TheatreWorld’s local design team began supporting Salerno activities exclusively, however interest and demand caused us to branch out and begin sharing our artistic creations with other theatre companies and event organizers.

TheatreWorld Backdrops is still based in Tampa, Florida and has been designing and producing theatrical backdrops for several years. We remain a family-owned and operated business that works with associates throughout the world. Our contributing designers and producer partners are located in the United States, Europe, and Asia.
